landscape sketches!

I like to start my landscape paintings off with a simple black and white values study, this way I can just concentrate on the composition and lighting of the scene and worry about colour later, I learnt this technique from one of my favourite artists Daarken. I then add a wash of basic colour and begin to paint in colour afterwards.
